Our
reality

The climate in Bonaire, unlike popular belief, creates cloudy skies in most months of the year and not very suitable for astrophotography due to the need for sufficient time to take long exposure shots, in honor of these circumstances it is the name of the observatory.
So it is not always in operation, so for a visit, sending a message or an email is ideal and then I can see if the conditions allow it.

What to expect from Bonaire Cloudy Nights

By visiting Bonaire Cloudy Nights you will have the opportunity to see and learn a little about telescopes, mounts, deep space photography, distances and if you are lucky, see the moon through a telescope or a planet like Saturn, Mars or Jupiter.
The reality is that to see those colorful images that illustrate outer space, we need to have very large instruments or rely on astrophotography.

Our Goal

Like every project, over time we seek to improve our knowledge and equipment. Since the beginning of this idea we have only had low-end equipment and something that we do want to change is the camera, going from a DSLR to a dedicated cooled camera for astrophotography. and thus improve the conditions of the hobby and the results, since the natural climate of the island plus the overheating of the current sensor of the camera introduces a lot of noise that is difficult to combat in post-processing.
